Is it just me or does it seem that courage is inversely related to aging? When we were young we were willing to take on the world, dancing for laughs in public wearing our favorite red cowboy boots and pink tu-tu with belly exposed. We were totally detached from the opinions of others, really just excited to see the idea through. Why do we suddenly give a damn what the world thinks as we get older? Why do we give our power away? How is what any one thinks worth holding back any part of our uniqueness. Our very existence depends on our ability to shine our light as bright as the brightest star.

That which keeps us from supremely thriving is the very road block we have to pass as a soul lesson in this life time. Most people have that one thing– the ego driven insecurity that halts progress. The ego does not deserve a voice/place to derail the attempt to step meaningfully into life. It is courage that allowed our role models to succeed, to love, to forgive, to be. It’s courage that we need to do the same.

To be courageous means to have a solid sense of self. Matters related to self esteem, self worth and COURAGE stem from the solar plexus/3rd Chakra. Strengthening the core is not just for physical fitness but for mental and emotional wellness. With regards to the 3rd Chakra, it is where you get your power and should be regularly nurtured. It’s important! When you are feeling bold and self validated you can step out confidently, ready to tackle your vision. Do a real gut check and tune in to your solar plexus. Remind yourself that…
• you have everything you need to be successful
• you have to be your biggest fan
• you are worth your weight in gold
• you owe it to yourself to take courageous steps

Life is about stepping into your power, not letting anything hold you back. When you are in a stuck pattern, ask if you need to be more courageous and take meaningful action. You illuminate the world in a unique way. It’s time to shine.

So silly that I forgot that I am the co-creator of my destiny. What a relief to have found the magic pixie dust I used to carry around when I was a child. Now it’s time to put it to use.

The rules for creating have not changed—I have. Part of me lost confidence and forgot how to make it happen. I quickly recall that it’s important to be child like when calling in a vision. Instantly I know that taping into the third eye chakra will help find the imaginative freedom needed.

Identifying a method to stay on track, I devise a map of steps to get back on track:

Make sure chakras are open and aligned—our creative abilities stem from our sacral chakra, are expanded at our 3rd eye and are released into the world by our throat chakra

Do not limit your dreams, the more descriptive and creative the better

Surround yourself with those who support your vision

Remember that your thoughts and words are your tools for creating, choose them wisely

Trust yourself, trust your gut and act on intuition

Once we own the fact that we have to the power to live the life we dream of, it all becomes a fun game. How positive can you be? How much do you believe? It’s all in your hands.

What happened yesterday has no bearing on what will happen in the present. The only thing we bring with us as we travel forward through time our story about who we are or who we were told we were supposed to be. Often times we hang onto other’s definition of us that may stem from childhood or teenage years. This characterization while so out dated is familiar and we may wear it like a badge. We cling to what we know even if it does not serve us.

The challenge is to rewrite our story. What happened in the past is the past. So, who are you? What new foundation can you lay so that you move forward with security and safety? Paint where you have come from in a positive light. Challenges have only made you stronger and more appreciate of what others take for granted. Highlight good times and moments you have felt all your needs being met. Feel where you want to go and know that you have support. Breathe in a fresh new perspective and move into your future feeling blessed with strength and resilience.

Some believe that it implies that the other person has permission to hurt you. Others feel that it is a release of resentment. There probably a few dozen more descriptions that others use to justify their stance.

We have all experienced let downs and hurts when our expectations have not been fulfilled. Some hold on to resentment for years, feeling justified in their anger. The other person is not affected by random emotions of anger or frustration that are harbored in the body. Even if someone has intentionally hurt you, resentment harbored only negatively impacts YOU!

Work to get past the negative impulse. There is nothing that can be changed about what has happened. Consider the event a learning lesson or a character building event. If you are still holding on to resentment, take the high road and forgive—release the person or the situation. You don’t have to forget what happened but allow yourself to arrive at peace in your spirit. A few questions to explore your relationship with forgiveness:

What does forgiveness mean to you?

Do you have trouble with forgiveness?

Have you ever felt physical tension when thinking of or faced with someone you resent and have not forgiven?

Work towards a resolution… “LAW”

Love yourself enough to not burden your body with negativity—Let go and move forward.

Accept that your reality is not theirs—they may never see your point of view.

Write a letter to the person to get your resentment off your chest…then burn it as a sign of release.

The 4th chakra or heart chakra is associated with life attributes love, forgiveness, resentment, compassion, healing and self love. It sits in the center of the chest. This is such a powerful chakra because it is the bridge between the upper spiritual chakras and lower physical ones. When blocked, this chakra commonly manifests in chest tightness, asthma, heart palpitations and mid back pain (by the way, please get checked by a physician if you have any of these symptoms).

If we look at the symbolism of this chakra as a bridge between the 1st-3rd chakras and 5th-7th chakras, we see how love is at the center of all we do. Negative emotions can not exist in the presence of LOVE. Love is the gateway to harmony between the visible and the invisible– the ego and higher self. To surrender to this is to be free. The body is lighter when the burden of resentment is released and forgiveness takes place. It’s as though a weight has been lifted.

What bridge do you need to mend? It may even be with you. Many times we need to understand that we were/are not at fault for certain traumatic occurrences that maybe we were blamed for. Give yourself permission to remove that hat you may have felt obligated to wear.

The heart chakra is always seeking expansion. Through divine Agape (unconditional love) we are able to evolve in consciousness. It’s important to listen to the purity of our heart’s song to get closer to becoming our best selves. When your body speaks, listen. True healing requires that we sometimes move through the uncomfortable to find resolution. You are worth it!

The job that was lost, the deal that didn’t close, the hardship that doesn’t seem to end, all designed for us to get us closer to relying and trusting divine order. Hardship’s tests our endurance and development muscles where we must grow and get stronger to over come obstacles. It’s never about the “what” of a situation but instead the “who” we become on the journey. Trusting that we are where we are meant to be per our soul agreement with the divine is the spiritual act of surrender so essential for well being. We have the opportunity to grow deeper in our connection with Spirit, to expand our listening and hear more clearly our guidance. It takes practice and commitment to this act in effort to experience an enlightened life.

Stress would be no more, for we would rest in the fact that all things have been perfectly placed in our lives to give birth to greater character. If we could live intimately entangled with spirit, we would understand in each moment that we are okay. Really…okay. What a concept! Upon wake and at the close of the day, all is well.

I have always felt that you rely on faith to take you where the spirit and soul want to go. The 7th Chakra relates to a higher order—spiritual connection and spiritual language that transcend mundane physical limitations. In this space all things are possible.

As we listen to our inner voice we are often guided on a path where we meet little resistance. It is in the communion with our spiritual self that we find our calling, purpose and mission. When we pause and listen we find the answers and solutions to our greatest challenges. What lesson do you find yourself repeating? What are you holding on to?

It takes a great deal of courage to be in the flow of the divine. The spiritual sense of surrender and bliss are privileged senses that must be developed. Practice makes perfect. Some spiritual followers spend a life time perfecting their relationship with the divine. It takes a bit of faith mixed with meditation and prayers to quiet the mind and there commences connection with divinity. Faith is defying the emotion of fear and doubt. Seemingly so contradictory, there is something that propels us to step into the unknown knowing that everything will work out fine. It is the inner instinctive knowing that brings us to listen to the whispers of our soul’s song and messages from beyond. When challenged, let’s talk less, listen more and rely a bit more on faith.

Do you have a negative visceral response to a thought? If your answer is yes then it seems you could benefit from a resolution.

We often shy away from confrontation and are so quick to sweep an occurrence under the rug. The problem is that the challenge is never rectified and has the potential to resurface. Knowing we have not let go nor granted forgiveness holds us back from opening up fully. The fear that the old hurt may rear its ugly head can be powerful enough to justify our defenses staying up. Holding back is sort of like playing or watching the biggest game of the season with the star player afraid to play full out for fear of disappointment that he or she may not win. Sounds crazy, huh? Well imagine that the big game is your life and you are the star player. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest and this can’t be done holding on to painful experiences of yesterday. Learn to really forgive and surrender to letting go without resentment. Open your Heart Chakra with forgiveness and you will feel everything expand—take a deeper breath, hug a little tighter, love a bit fuller.

Everyone has a gift or talent to contribute to the world. Whether widely accepted or silly, we are all here to contribute our unique talents. What is it that makes you special? What is that thing that makes you happy—where you can get so engrossed that hours or even a day seems to pass in the blink of an eye? No idea is insignificant and no dream too big for you to reach. Be okay with going full out to express that thing you do. Give yourself permission to live your dream!

Dreaming and imagining are senses that powerfully reside at the Third Eye or 6th Chakra. Sometimes it helps to not think of life in a linear fashion but instead in a way where you remain motivated even when the next step seems implausible. Deeply connect with your gifts and talents by remembering what you loved as a child. The imaginative spirit of youth is free. Remember when you planned to be an astronaut, a veterinarian, have 3 lemonade stands and use your super powers to turn red stop lights green? This is the same boundless energy you should recall to feel that anything is possible. Just remember that YOU matter and the world is waiting to benefit from your uniqueness.
